Who We Are?
We Matter 2 is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2024 to serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness while creating brighter futures for youth throughout our community.
We understand that homelessness is more than a lack of housing. It often includes barriers such as unemployment, lack of transportation, mental health challenges, food insecurity, and limited access to basic necessities. Our organization works to address these immediate needs while connecting individuals with long-term resources that promote stability and independence.
Our journey began with a simple belief
WE MATTER 2 also believe prevention begins with our youth. Through mentoring, leadership development, educational support, financial literacy, sports, life-skills training, and positive community engagement, we help young people build confidence and make healthy choices that prepare them for successful futures.
At We Matter 2, every act of kindness reminds someone that they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.
Building a stronger Bakersfield, together
Our primary goal is to foster a more compassionate Bakersfield where everyone feels valued and supported. We address homelessness, poverty, and hardship with a holistic approach, providing food, clothing, hygiene services, mentorship, and essential community resources to guide individuals toward stability. Crucially, we believe in prevention, investing in youth through boxing, drill teams, financial literacy, life skills, and leadership development. As we grow, we aspire to expand our services to include mobile showers, restrooms, laundry, and transitional housing partnerships.
Making a difference, one life at a time
A defining moment for WE MATTER 2 INC occurred before major sponsorships, when we used our personal resources to serve over 100 meals. Beyond providing food, we offered kindness, respect, and dignity, listening to stories and reinforcing the belief that every person matters. This experience inspired us to develop a holistic nonprofit focused on long-term solutions, including youth programs, hygiene services, mentorship, and transitional support. Every meal served, every conversation shared, and every act of compassion strengthens our commitment to building a community where no one is forgotten.
