LaShawnda O'Brien, the founder and CEO of WE MATTER 2 INC, is a visionary leader with a profound commitment to serving the Bakersfield community. Her dedication stems from a deep-seated belief in the dignity and value of every individual, especially those experiencing homelessness and at-risk youth. Under her guidance, WE MATTER 2 INC has become a beacon of hope, providing essential resources like food, clothing, and hygiene services, while also empowering young people through mentorship, drill team, and boxing programs. LaShawnda's passion and tireless efforts inspire both her team and the community to create a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
INGRID WEBB
Ingrid Webb serves as Vice President and Assistant Chief Executive Officer of WE MATTER 2. Born in Bakersfield, California, Ingrid has personally experienced homelessness, giving her a genuine understanding of the barriers faced by individuals and families seeking stability. She is also the owner of Aduquate Cleaning Services in Bakersfield. Ingrid works closely with the Founder and executive team to strengthen community partnerships, develop supportive programs, and advance the organization’s mission. Her leadership reflects compassion, resilience, and a commitment to helping people feel valued, empowered, and connected to meaningful opportunities and resources.
SHANTEL HUNTER
Shantel Hunter serves as Chief Financial Officer of WE MATTER 2. Born in Bakersfield, California, Shantel’s personal experience with homelessness strengthens her compassion for individuals and families facing housing instability. She also works as a home healthcare provider in Bakersfield, supporting people with care, patience, and respect. As CFO, Shantel helps oversee budgeting, financial planning, and the responsible use of organizational resources. Her commitment to accountability and service supports the continued growth of programs focused on homelessness, youth empowerment, and resource connections throughout the Bakersfield community.
